Step into your avatar.
A little motion capture studio, right in your browser.
Quick help & camera troubleshooting
Opening this file: download it and open it directly in current Chrome or Edge. An internet connection is needed to load the tracking engine and models. Embedded file previews can block camera access or pop-ups. If your browser blocks a local file, serve it from localhost or an HTTPS website.
Hide vs. stop: “Show webcam” hides only the real camera picture. Tracking continues and the camera light stays on. “Stop camera” actually releases the camera and holds the last pose.
Tracking: one person at a time. Missing joints hold their last reliable position. Optional fingers need well-lit, visible hands. This is a 2D puppet; it does not reconstruct the back of your avatar.
Pop-out: allow pop-ups for this file. Keep this control window open; closing it ends the output. A browser may slow tracking if this window is minimized. Transparent backgrounds can look black in a separate window; use green for chroma-key capture.
Privacy: camera frames and uploaded artwork are processed locally, with no recording or upload. The tracking software and models are downloaded from jsDelivr and Google. No webcam frames are sent to them. Body detection uses MediaPipe Pose, with optional Hands. The tracking.js provider keeps the same lightweight body-detection path while using the alternate local tracking mode. “Interpolate motion to 60 fps” smooths the avatar between detections, with up to one tracking interval of added visual delay. It does not increase the number of poses the model detects.
